A Triple Play in 2009!

This year's 2009 UJC/Jewish Welfare Fund Campaign comes with a special match. When considering your pledge for the year, there's never been a better time to consider an increase, thanks to four community "angels."  They will match 3-1 any new gifts or any increased gift given for Super Sunday or to Intermediate gifts. Give a $100 increase? That will be a $400 increase!

Your Akron Jewish Community Needs YOU!

by Joel Goldstein, 2009 UJC/Jewish Welfare Fund Chair

Let's face the situation head-on. You might think this isn't a good time to ask for dollars to support the Jewish Community Board of Akron's annual campaign. The news on Wall Street certainly doesn't leave anyone in a cheery mood.

You're right. It's not a good time. But as Jews, we know there's never a good time; that waiting for the right moment, when our needs have lessened, never seems to arrive. The fact is, Israel depends on support from America's Jews for a major part of their network of social support services.
