Rick Spector: "I'm proud to be a member of the Akron Jewish community"

Rick Spector is the incoming president of the JCBA. He was introduced by his father in the Annual Meeting that took place on Wednesday, June 3, 2015.

"I’m looking forward to the opportunity to serve as the President of the Jewish Community Board of Akron.  My prior experience serving on the JCC, JFS, Lippman, and JCBA boards provides me with a strong foundation for this position.

I was fortunate to grow up in the Akron Jewish Community, spending much time at the JCC. This has helped me to understand the important role that the Akron Jewish Community plays in developing Jewish youth, as well it’s role in serving as the center for the Jewish adult community.

As we look forward to the future of Jewish Akron, we have several challenges ahead, but we also have much opportunity.  I am confident that we will continue to have a strong Jewish community in Akron.

To accomplish this, we need to understand the impact of changing demographics, and focus our programs and services on meeting ever-‐changing community needs.  We need to ensure that we provide these programs and services in a fiscally responsible manner.

I’m proud to be a member of the Akron Jewish Community, and I look forward to working with everyone here to ensure that we continue to have a vibrant Jewish Community in Akron."
