In about a year Shaw JCC members will be enjoying an indoor pool once again. A portion of the funds needed to make the renovation a reality have been secured, with Thom and Lisa Mandel stepping up to graciously sponsor a $500,000 matching grant for the renovation. The architecture firm Bialosky & Partners has been engaged and has produced renderings for the project. The Shaw JCC formed a committee to develop a plan/timeline for fundraising, construction, PR and financing. It is comprised of Judi Shapiro, Ted Walter, Lisa Looman, Jen Chestnut and David Kern. They will look at the entire scope of the project. Until construction is complete, Shaw JCC can use the indoor pools at the Wadsworth, University Park and Lake Anna YMCAs.
